CURRENT SAFETY PROCEDURES & PROTOCOLS
SEAT CAPACITY
Because of the limited space in the church due to social distancing, ALL Masses will be "First Come, First Serve" until capacity is reached.
First time attendees will be asked to provide their full name and phone number for contact tracing.
All Mass attendees will be seated by an usher. Keep in mind you will not necessarily be seated in your usual seating area.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Bring hand sanitizer for use in church.
Face coverings are required (must cover nose and mouth) for all persons age 10 and up.
Your temperature may be taken at check-in. All ministers and volunteers, however, temperatures will be taken.
MASS ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Arrive at least 20 minutes before Mass begins to check-in.
Parking: Come through the Kaheka Street gate, or the back entrance on Amana Street, and park in designated areas of parking lot. There will be signs and parking attendants directing vehicles as you drive in, please follow their instructions.
*Note: Stalls near the garage are reserved for handicap parking. There will be NO handicap parking accessible on the Makai side of church; the side ramp entrance will remain closed.
Face coverings should be worn before you exit your vehicle and be kept on at all times on church grounds.
There will be one designated check-in line at the Courtyard/Garage door Entrance. Parking and safety ushers will direct you.
You may be asked to wait in your vehicles until called to enter a line.
Maintain social distancing protocols. Floors are marked to keep a 6ft distance in lines.
A parish usher will lead you into church and seat you and/or your family to a pew. Pews will be filled in an orderly fashion.
You will be seated in pews marked for social distancing. Every other pew will be closed. You may be sharing a pew with another family, but social distance is required between families. For your safety, please follow the usher's instructions.
The holy water fonts will be emptied.
Hymnals and missalettes will not be available for use in the pews during this time.
Entrance doors will close as soon as Mass starts.
MASS PROCEDURES
Face masks must be worn for the duration of Mass.
Collection baskets will not be passed during Offertory.Ushers will collect your offering with a long-poled basket (whose handles will be sanitized before and after use).
You may also give online via our website’s Online Giving (strongly encouraged).
There will be no physical contact at the sign of Peace and no hand-holding during the Lord’s Prayer. A bow, a smile, or a wave will serve as a true sign of peace to one’s neighbor.
COMMUNION PROCEDURES
Communion will be distributed by the priests and/or Eucharistic ministers.
The Precious Blood of Christ will not be offered to the congregation at this time.
Use of personal hand sanitizer is encouraged.
There will be three communion lines. Ushers will prompt each section/pew to the line. If you are unable or do not feel comfortable to go up and receive Holy Communion, you may remain in your pew and make an Act of Spiritual Communion.
Maintain social distance at all times between the communicants in front of and behind you.
Masks should be worn in the communion line and when you step up to the priest. After the priest has offered you communion in the hand, step to the side, remove your mask, and consume the Eucharist reverently.
After you’ve received Communion, immediately place your mask back on and return to your seat.
MASS DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
After the final blessing, parishioners must remain in their pew. Pews will be dismissed in an orderly fashion.
Ushers will direct your pew where to exit.
You must exit the pew when prompted. Please do not leave anything in the pews when you leave.
Private prayer is not available after Masses, to allow the church to be reset and sanitized for the next Mass.
You may drop off your weekly offering in the collection box near the exit as you depart.
Upon exiting the church, please head directly to your vehicle and exit the parking lot safely.
Please do not congregate in the courtyard or outside by the vehicles. No social gathering will be held after Mass. Your cooperation will allow the next Mass to start on time.
CHURCH CLEANING
Parish staff will continue to implement cleanliness and sanitization practices throughout the church, including cleaning pews immediately between Masses.
Restrooms, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day.
All parish staff, ministers, ushers and volunteers assisting at church will be trained on proper hygiene and safety protocols before serving.
You are reminded to follow CDC recommendations regarding your own health. If you fall into a “high risk” category and are sick or showing symptoms, please stay home and join us by Live Stream.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Confession will resume on Saturdays between 3:00 PM - 4:15 PM
When you arrive for Confession:
Please remember to follow all health and safety guidelines as shown in the video.
Enter through the Garage Door in the back of the Church.
You will be greeted by an usher who will sign you in and direct you to the waiting area in the sanctuary.
A 6ft social distancing must be maintained by everyone.
Wearing a face covering/mask is mandatory at all times on Church grounds.
6-7 individuals will be allowed into the sanctuary at one time
Please respect others, by refraining from talking while waiting for your turn.
